Treating adults with mental and emotional disorders and substance abuse. 

Programs and services include:

WE CARE Crisis Center – 24 hour a day, seven days per week crisis intervention service. Available services include crisis intervention, brief counseling, linkage to mental health follow up services, pre-hospital screening and diagnostic assessments.

HOPEline - 24 hour a day, seven days per week crisis counseling and referral telephone line.   Phone 1-800-567-HOPE (4673).

Pre-Screening – face to face service designed to assess the need for hospitalization with attention to limiting unnecessary admissions by seeking alternative interventions.  This service is available in conjunction with 24 hour a day, seven days per week crisis counseling.

Psychiatric Services (Pharmacological Management) – provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment including medications.

Outpatient Therapy – provides counseling in a safe, hopeful environment for individuals, families, couples and groups in order to deal with issues that have become overwhelming for them. Services are provided by professionally trained and state licensed staff.

Community Psychiatric Support Services – (CPST) – these services are provided in both individual and group activities to include actions directed toward obtaining, coordinating, linking and monitoring mental health, medical, rehabilitation, employment and other formal or informal community support services necessary to meet the needs of the severely mentally disabled or “at risk” populations.

Peer Support - Community-based therapeutic and recreational activities focus on:  hope, education, socialization and peer support, empowerment, and skill-building..  Features are music/arts/crafts, Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), computers, literacy training, job preparation, holiday parties, and friends.

Substance Abuse Services – provides individual, group and intensive group outpatient services for persons with a diagnosis of substance abuse or dependence. 

Payeeship – this program maintains the finances of those clients who need assistance with support, advocacy and the delivery of services.   The payee maintains a budget and works cooperatively with community resources.   The payee also assists in crisis intervention situations with the goal of community stabilization.

Guardianship Program – provides information about guardianship, assists with locating appropriate guardians for clients who require them and finds alternatives to guardianship if possible.

Outreach – includes opportunities to develop programs and presentations to meet the needs of an individual, group or population. Outreach is used to promote healthy lifestyles, behaviors and attitudes, as well as for attempting to engage resistant clients.

Mental Health and Drug Court Liaison  - provides staffing, coordination, and treatment support to the Allen County treatment courts including the Adult Drug Court and the Adult Mental Health Court.

Mental Illness/Developmental Disabilities  (MIDD)  - comprehensive integration of services for individuals with dual disorders.

Patient Assistance Program (PAP)  consumer pharmacy assistance based upon application and consumer need.

Housing - stability of housing is one of the core elements promoting successful recovery.  LSS

Residential Services offers a variety of levels of support, in a variety of housing opportunities, by placing the focus on the least restrictive placement/environment that promotes and/or maintains wellness.

Benefits Consultant Program -assists the agency in identifying potential candidates for both state and federal entitlements.  Additionally, Benefits Consultants are responsible for becoming the authorized representatives of the Department of Job and Family Services for individuals who have previously failed to complete the required processes to access and to maintain their benefits.
