Frequently Asked Questions

About Core Benefits

Q: What exactly are Core Benefits?

A: Core Benefits are those services and access points that we can guarantee to all residents of Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin Counties based on our current resources.

Q: Why did the Mental Health & Recovery Services Board develop a Core Benefits package?

A: We know that our resources are limited. There are currently no new dollars coming into our system. We wanted to outline the core services which meet the following criteria:

Services that are required by law or administrative policy.

Services that will reduce inpatient hospitalization.

Services that support our priority populations.

Q: Doesn’t the Mental Health & Recovery Services Board offer more than the "core" services?

A: Yes. We are fortunate to have additional resources to increase the Core Benefits package beyond the most basic services. In addition, the Board has worked to create partnerships with other systems to ensure efficiency of care, decrease duplication, and maximize the resources of all.
